Our
Aims and Philosophy
A
lot is written about the ethics of food production in today’s
media. The virtues of Organic production, Fair Trade, Food
miles, locally produced foods, Supermarket domination and
many other worthy topics. These subjects will continue to
dominate debate as food is the key to the health, wealth
and sustainability of the human race.
Mrs
Crow aims to encourage as many people as possible to grow
some of their own vegetables. Eating fresh vegetables grown
in your own garden is also very healthy and causes very
little environmental pollution. Too much of our gardens
today is down to lawn. Gardening is also a very fulfilling
way to improve physical health through fresh air and physical
exercise from digging, cultivating and harvesting.
Why
not join an allotment or horticultural society? Allotment
societies and Horticultural societies hold competitions
and spread knowledge. They often hold vegetable stalls where
gardeners can swap or sell excess produce.
The
satisfaction from growing your own produce can be enormous.
You can put as much or as little pesticide and fertiliser
on as you like. You will know exactly how your vegetables
have been grown and how fresh they are.
Mrs
Crow aims to help gardeners provide the best environment
for plants to grow with balanced nutrition. We also aim
to improve environmental habitats within your garden.
